Last night Aunt Dawn came to see Hank and bring him some goodies, including his first car. He is so mechanical minded. He always looks to see how things work and likes his "boy toys." I thought it was funny how he was looking in the hood - will he be a mechanic like Daddy?

Like Father Like Son?

On his knees and on our toes!
Hank is on his knees crawling around and getting into everything. This of course keeps us on our toes! I did some putting away of several things last weekend. No more crafts and knick knacks around. Nothing is left on the coffee table anymore, and things are placed up high out of his reach.
Last week we also switched out his infant car seat to the "big boy"car seat.
For about the past two weeks he has been in the habit of getting up in the middle of the night and is often wide awake. This morning at 3:30 am he was sitting up in his crib, and it was a while before he fell back to sleep. Hopefully it's just a phase he is going through. I can't complain too much because he is such a good baby.

Is Your Mama a Llama?
Hank and I went to the Mason Dixon Fair on Monday night. He had funnel cake and french fries. He loves to stroll around and people watch and he LOVES animals. He was so excited at the petting zoo. I had him standing up at the fence and all the goats were coming up and sticking their heads through the fence to get a good look at him (as well as hoping he had some food). Hank laughed and jumped up and down with excitement. These are some photos I took after I put him back in his stroller. He thought it was so funny when the llama bent down for a good look at him, and started to lick his hand. It reminded me of the popular children's book: Is Your Mama a Llama?

Portraits
Of course I take many photos of Hank, but today he and I went to Sears to have his photos taken. I had wanted to have them taken sometime around 6-9 months. I think that this is the cutest stage. Well, there is actually something cute about every age, but at least now he is able to sit up on his own, which I was wanting him to do for his pictures. I was able to leave with a CD of the pictures taken and here are a few. Also click on the following link to see the portraits he had when he was two weeks: http://jodieotte.com/?p=342
He's been a handsome little devil since day 1!

June: All about Daddies and Brides
Today is Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies. Hank is very lucky because he has a very good Daddy. Brant is very good with Hank and has no problems with helping take care of him. We are both very lucky!
Last night Brant and I went to my little cousin's wedding. It was a very nice wedding. You know you are getting old when you remember the bride as a baby!
Hank is now Nine Months old - before you know it he will be getting married.
He is now 22 .8 lbs and 30 inches. He started to eat some finger foods this weekend including rice puffs and toast cut into bite size pieces. His little hands are into everything now. He went to the Doctors on Friday for his nine month check up and got one shot - he did very well this time with it. He started to cry, but stopped right away. I took the day off of work to be with him. Later that day we went for a nice walk around the neighborhood and when we came back in it looked like he was chewing on something but I couldn't see anything. When I laid him down to change his diaper that's when I discovered he had the little round band aid from where he got his shot in his mouth! I never imagined he would have done that. It scared me to death of course. He will go back to the Doctor's in three months when he is a year old. He will be due for several shots then. I always worry about the shots. I don't like to see him in pain and I also worry that he could have some side effects. At least next time I will know not to keep that band aid on!

Peek A Boo - Hank sees you!
Hank plays so well now. He can sit for a long time and just play with his toys. He is also now participating in peek a boo - he hides himself now. He is so funny. Watch the video and see him playing in his crib.
